The second season of JamesonOTP's fanfiction series, Glee: The Next Generation, made its premiere on February 1, 2012. The first episode, High School Never ends garnered positive reviews. Each episode this season focused on touchy subjects such as death, feeling invisible, facing fears, being labelled, drugs, fitting in and also focusing more on heritage and deep feelings individually in each character.
On January 13, 2012, JamesonOTP confirmed that Glee: The Next Generation would be renewed for a second season, the season began four days after the season finale of the first season of the series. The season lasted for 22 episodes and the season ended on May 21, 2012 with the release of Gold Forever. The season ran for a total of four months. This season continues the journey of New Directions as they yearn to go far to Internationals, considering that they didn't make it to Internationals the year before. Season Two introduced many new characters, such as Lana Addison, Aldy Williams, Taylor Atkinson, Adam Gray, Natasha Leonard and Ana Watson. Ellen Page was also promoted to main cast, as Scott Clifton and Leighton Meester's roles on the show (John Weiner and India Wilson) were decreased. Clifton was a guest star and Meester's role was her final season as a main character on the show.
